NYC Gauchos presented the Mecca Lady Choz Girls HS Basketball Challenge. NYGHoops Report was on hand to cover the first two days of the three-day event. Because I missed the last day of the event, it would not be possible for me to provide an all-tournament team, but I can for sure create a starting five of unsigned and committed players from the first two days.
MLK Weekend, Nazareth Regional High School hosted The Rose Classic Super Jam. The event housed teams from New York, Florida, Maryland, Virginia, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Ohio and Washington D.C. Many players represented their areas well so NYGHR randomly selected players to be highlighted.
Brooklyn, NY – The McDonald’s All American Games unveiled the official rosters for the 40th annual boys game and 16th annual girls game during Sunday's McDonald’s All American Games Selection Show on ESPNU. The nation’s premier high school basketball all-star event will take place March 29 at Chicago’s United Center.
Bronx, NY- Harry S. Truman H.S. housed the 2nd Say Yes to Success Elite Showcase, which hosted teams from NY, NJ, CT, CO, VA, MD and Canada. The event ran for three days this past Martin Luther King weekend. NYGHoops Report was on hand to cover day one’s seven games.
Paterson, NJ- The New Year’s Resolution has become a staple in the Northeast HS basketball landscape over the years. The event is presented by the New Jersey Sparks travel organization. The following players are noteworthy unsigned seniors that participated in NYR 2017.
Miami, FL- Last week I got a chance to visit Miami and attended The 2016 Junior Orange Bowl Basketball classic at Palmetto H.S. The 8 team event hosted teams from New York, Alabama, Illinois, Florida and South Carolina. After a demanding three days of play Long Island Lutheran would be crowed the Champion by defeating a 10-4 Talented Nova HS (FL). NYGHops Report was on hand Thursday to catch al of the second-round action.
Caldwell, NJ- The 9th Mount Saint Dominic Holiday basketball Festival, hosted many of Northern New Jerseys top teams. The event tipped off the day after Christmas on the Caldwell college / Mount Saint Dominic HS campus. NYGHoops Report was on hand to cover the first day of the event.
