10- Cardinal O’hara Second year head coach Nick Oneil, will guide the Lady Hawks a perennial power in class B and A into it’s first year as Class AA. He will have a talented bunch led by 6 foot 1 senior Summer Hemphill who averaged 13 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals & 2 blocks per game. Junior Andea Zigrer will provide the perimeter scoring. Sophomores Cory Dixon, Kiara Johnson and Nickelle Oneil will contribute heavily. Freshman Angel Parker is transfer from Cheektowaga HS, who comes in with 2 seasons of varsity experience.
9- Syracuse CNA Coach Smith’s section 3 power, will have to replace Emilee Norris (Mercyhurst) but returns a very productive backcourt in McKayla Roberts (Le Moyne) and Bet Bonin (Queens). Roberts will always be the smallest player on the court but the syracuse.com large school player on the year is the heart and soul of the team. (2018) Amani Free will be there tallest player so she will be play out of position and is a natural D1 wing.
8- Shenendehowa Coach Joe Murphy has one of the most talented teams in Section II. Lady Plainsmen will rely on the senior leadership of Carly Boland (Bighamton) and Samira Sangare (Dominican College). They will also have junior Sydney Brown 6’00” who is a two sports star that is being recruited by a number of D1 schools. Experienced sophomore Cameron Tooley will run the point for coach murphy as the make the push to win states.
7-Ossining Coach Dan Ricci and his Ossining Pride can never be counted out. This years team star player will be senior Shadeen Samuels (Seton Hall) who averaged 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals as a junior. Key contributors to this young team will have to be 2019’s Jaida Strippoli a point guard & wing player Aubrey Griffin. They both will be scholarship players when its said and done.
6- Bishop Loughlin Coach Chez Williams is a veteran coach that can never be counted out. His lady lion’s team will go as far as D1 prospects (2018) Zariah Dorcey & (2017) Mimi Reid can take them. Senior G/F Skydajah Patterson & Ellesse Billings will provide some leadership and toughness. Junior guard Lynette Taitt will provide some scoring as well as a dependable perimeter defender.
5- Baldwin Coach Tom Catapano’s bunch is young but has been together for a while. Senior leadership will be provided by 6 foot 1 forward Lames El Gammal (Brown). The lady Bruins return their leading scorer in sophomore guard Aziah Hudson 14.9 PPG, as well as there floor generals 2018 Jenna Annecchiarico & 2019 Kaia Harrison. Junior Sarah Pulis will provide some scoring from the win.
4- St. Anthony’s Head Coach Ken Parham has compiled a vast amount of talent in Huntington Station, NY. The key to this team will be how soon and how well they jell. Jayla Jones-Pack (UCF), Sarah Edmonds (Howard), Taylor Goode (Central Connecticut State), Etalyia Vogt (Towson) & Ally Murphy (Sacred Heart) will provide seniority. 2017 Maia Moffitt, Jasmine White & 2018 Lauren Hackettare all future D1 prospects and will provide depth.
3- South Shore Coach Awar Gladden and the Lady Vikings are the defending PSAL champ. Their secret weapon Jordan Washington will be the key, the 5’10 forward will contribute in defending, rebounding and intensity. It will be needed night in and night out as 2018 Jasmin Johnson & 2017 Selena Philoxy get acclimated to new roles on team. The lady Vikings can expect a contributions from any of these guards on any given night Tsahai Corbie, Diamond Shavis Keyyanna Glover, Destiny Philoxy, Earlette Scott & Valena Hickerson.
2-Long Island Lutheran Coach Rich Slater has turned LUHI into a nationally recognized program. This year was supposed to be a rebuilding year but with a few new faces they will be right back in the mix for a federation championship. Do it all senior forward Jenna Siletti (Sacred Heart) as well as point guards Alyssa Torres (Merrimack) will be they most experienced players on the roster. Senior wing Sarah Mortensen is a new face from Denmark. 2019 Celeste Taylor, 2018’s Grace Stone & Destiny Samuels are future BCS players. Freshman Cassidy Roberts will provide backcourt depth.
1- Christ the King Head coach Bob Mackey will have one of his most talented teams in years. Seniors Dominique Toussaint (UVA), Sydney Zambrotta (Louisville), Kaela Kinder (Virginia Tech) & 6 foot 3 Ashlie Heywood, have all been starters or contributors for the past two seasons. 2017 Jhayliene Fisher, 2018 Jaeonna Sutton & Brandy Thomas , 2019 Kaelynn Satterfield 6’00 & Klark Sconiers 6’01 will provide depth.
