What’s next for some of the young lady’s following Rites of Passage 2015…
Faith Masonius 2019 6-1 (F) Exodus Wildcats
She will attend Manasquan HS in New Jersey. Faith has outstanding skill for her size and moves well. She can handle the ball some and has a high IQ to make plays for his teammates. Her inside/outside game will serve her well at the high school level and beyond. Masonius will be playing with her Exodus team at Spooky Nook in September.
Ashley Owusu 2019 5-10 (G/W) Boo Williams
She will attend Paul VI in Virginia. Owusu was an offensive weapon at the ROP. She played aggressively but was unselfish. Her ball handling skills allowed her to create, she finished strong at the rim showed a good feel for the game and brandished a few spin moves that left defenders helpless. Owusu will be playing with Boo Williams in Houston in the Fall.
Celeste Taylor 209 5-10 (W) Philly Belles Banford
She will attend Long Island Lutheran HS in New York. Taylor’s athletic ability jumped out at you even at an event with some of the best players in the nation. In addition to her ability to run and make plays in transition, Taylor has added some perimeter skills to her repertoire; most notable her mid range shot. Taylor will attend a USJN event in the fall.
Lauren Hansen 5-7 (G) Exodus NYC (pictured)
Will attend Ward Melville HS (NY) 2019. Hansen did not disappoint the scoring combo displayed slick NYC style handles and the ability to connect on shots off the dribble with range. Will be Northeast Fall Finish & Friday Night Lights.
Lauren Park-Lane 2019 5-3 Philly Belles (Woodall)
Park-Lane will attend Sanford HS in Delaware. The only small thing about this kid was her stature; she played big and displayed an affectionate smile all through the event. She played in attack mode applying pressure on the defense, dropping dimes right and left, but packed enough scoring punch to keep the defenders off balance. She will be playing at a USJN event in the fall.
Teisha Hyman 2019 5-9 Westchester Hoopers
Will attend Woodlands HS in New York. The gifted combo guard made things look simple and easy. Hyman got to the hole effortlessly time after time, played under control and did a good job rebounding and scoring. The Westchester Hoopers program is undecided at the time what event they will attend in the fall.
Samatha Brunelle 2019 6-2 BWSL Richmond
Will attend William Monroe HS in Virginia. Brunelle looked outstanding with her size and skill set combination. She even showed the ability to knock down the outside shoot on a consistent basis. Brunelle is will be playing in Mike T Whites event in GA.
Excellenxt Greer 2019 5-5 Team Assist
Will attend Bishop McNamara HS in Washington, DC. The athletic, crafty, lefty scoring guard just continually applied pressure on defenders whether attacking the rack or using her mid range jumper.
Azzi Fudd 2021 5-10 Team Takeover 14U Fudd
Attends Potomac School in Maryland and yes she is in the class of 2021. You may feel that it is a bit premature to talk about a rising 7
th grader, however Fudd’s size and skill demanded attention. She is a very effortless ball handler that showed the ability to handle both guard slots.
Anissa Rivera 2019 5-11 Havoc City (16U)
Will attend the Forestville HS in Maryland. The very athletic Rivera was so effective racking up bucket after bucket, fishing at the rim or stroking from mid range jumper. Rivera versatility allowed her to play the 2,3 and the 4 at the ROP. Per her AAU coach she will be in ATL for the fall.
