How was your AAU experience playing for coach Ashley?
Playing for Coach Ashley was a great experience. She knows me as a basketball player and a person, so she knows how to get the best from me. I trust her. She can coach me tough because I know it’s coming from a place of love. I also LOVED my teammates. We’re all really good friends.
How was your experience like playing basketball at Cannon high school?
Playing at Cannon helped to mature my game. Coach Drakeford put me in situations to step up as a leader immediately, which was uncomfortable in the beginning. I have a team first mentality so it is important to get them involved. We proved what we could do when everyone stepped up, and we’ve developed strong team chemistry over the last two years.
What was your most memorable moment during the high school season?
Being celebrated by my coaches, teammates, family and friends for hitting the 1k points milestone was a memorable moment for me.
What is it like playing for your high school coach?
I love playing for Coach Drakeford. He believes in me and puts me in situations to help me grow on and off the court. He is also a fair coach and encourages everyone to step up.
What do you think was the biggest growth in your game that led to you getting scholarship offers?
I think the growth in my confidence as a player, teammate and individual has led to getting more exposure.
What part of your game do you want to improve on?
I always want to continue to improve on all aspects of my game, but I definitely want to improve on being a vocal leader.
What schools are recruiting and who has offered you?
UNC, Wake Forest, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Mississippi State, Miami, Kentucky, Rutgers, ECU, and UNCC.
Did you take visits to college yet also how are the virtual tours compared to visits?
I’ve taken a few unofficial visits to college campuses over the past year. The virtual tours have been good but obviously not the same experience as being on campus.
Who are some of the players NBA/ WNBA / NCAA you pattern you game after?
I’m a versatile and physical player, so I would say Bradley Beal. I also love Satou Sabally’s game.
What are you looking for in A college?
I’m looking for a school that will help prepare me for life after basketball. I’m looking for a basketball program that has a culture of trust and accountability, a team first attitude and wants to win. I want to play for a coach who shares my goals and will push and develop me to reach those goals.
