In the world of high school sports, few moments are as exhilarating as the experience of being recruited by colleges. For a sophomore basketball player, this journey represents a significant step towards their dreams of playing at the collegiate level. Meet 6 foot 2, sophomore Julia Scott, who attends Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia, N.Y.
After putting together, a strong summer with her travel team (Empire State Blue Flames). College coaches from various institutions took notice of her ability and potential and are now hot on her trail. NYGHR got a chance to speak to Julia last week about her recruitment.
“I’ve visited Fairfield and Louisville, but in the next month I’m visiting Princeton, Penn State, Syracuse, Villanova & Providence all during the end of August or early September.” When asked, “what you are looking for in a school” the uber talented forward, quickly replies. “I am look for the coaches and players to have a good relationship; I would be spending most of my time with them so its important to create a bond. I am also looking for high academic school.”
