Livonia, MI- This past Saturday Lady Ballers Insider gathered many of Michigan and Ohio’s top high school programs under one roof, at its annual Michigan Mega Scrimmage. With Michigan being a state with travel restrictions, this event servers as a great recruiting tool for local teams.
NYGHoops Report was on hand to provide coverage for this 56-team event.
Damiya Hagemann 5’07 PG (Detroit Edison, MI 2021)
This was my first time seeing this kid, left impressed with her ability to be a three-D player; drive, Dish and deliver. Handles ball on a string used thickness & quickness to her advantage in getting into the lane. Did not shoot much from the perimeter. But I’m sure that can be attributed to how many talented players she has around her
Latasha Lattimore 6’04 P (Crestwood Prep, Can 2021)
Lattimore is hands down a future BCS player. She continues to improve her stock every time I see her. With some added strength, she showed some ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim at the Michigan Mega Scrimmage. She used her agility to her advantage on both ends running the floor and did not shy away from physical play.
Ally Vantimmeren 6’02 (Jenison, MI 2021)
Nothing not to love about a strong, athletic and physical throwback-style player. Vantimmeren played every position at some point during the Michigan Mega Scrimmage. Outside her scoring her feel for rebounding and passing jumps out at you.
Shayenn Day-Wilson 5’05 PG (Crestwood Prep, Can 2021)
Crafty elite level lead guard. Elevates play of others around her. Can score or create, productive playing in up-tempo and values possession of the ball.
Jillian Brown 5’10 PG (East Grand Rapids HS, MI 2021)
Big guard that played the 1, 2 and 3 at the Michigan Mega Scrimmage. She is fluid, smooth and gets out in transition. She showed the ability to finish at the rim as well as the range to knock down the three-point shot. Played well within the team system showing the potential to be a future power 5 prospect.
Shannon Wheeler 6’01 F (Detroit Renaissance HS, MI 2021)
Long athletic build. She runs, jumps and catches very well. She played facing the rim as well as her back to basket, but mostly enjoyed being around the rim.
Cortney Gardner 5’06 G (Toledo Rogers HS, OH 2021)
Cat-quick lefty creates off the bounce, irritating perimeter defender, killer crossover, range to the three-point line.
Lachelle Austin 5’08 G (Deaborn Henry Ford Academy 2021)
Combo guard with a nice shooting touch. In the game I saw, she knocked down three 3’s.
Morasha Wiggins 6’00 W (Kalamazoo Central HS, MI 2021)
At first glance, you can tell she has Prototype size & frame. With a quick twitch, played passing lane and thrived in transition.
Kyla Foster 5’06 PG (Canton McKinley HS, OH 2021)
She is an athletic, fast and productive lead guard. She has a ton of potential.
Madison Royal-DavisM 5’07 G (Toledo Rogers HS, OH 2021)
Nakyah Terrell 5’05 G (Canton MCKinley HS, OH 2021)
Mikyah Finley 5’09 G (Detroit Renaissance HS, MI 2021)
Audrianna Hill 5’06 PG (Detroit Renaissance HS, MI 2021)
Nika Dorsey 5’09 W (Detroit Renaissance HS, MI 2021)
Saniaa Walker 5’07 PG (Flint Kearsley HS, MI 2021)
Mckenna Coucheour 5’08 G (Mason HS, MI 2021)
