Wilmington, DE- This past weekend I got a chance to be in the gym for two-days with campers from NM, NY, NJ, CT, MD, PA at The East Coast Takeover. Here are some of the top performing campers at the camp.
#57 Anya George 5’7 G, South Jersey 2025 (pictured).
Simply put George was the real deal over the weekend at the East coast Takeover. She scored efficiently from all three levels. A quality that stuck out to me outside of her talent was her willingness to share the ball and be a good teammate. This is a name you will start hearing more about this winter at Life Center Academy (NJ).
This Abington Friends (PA) point guard was a pleasant surprise. Hands down she was one of the most impressive point guards at the camp over the two days. She is crafty, savvy, has a high IQ and is a three level scorer. She did a nice job feeding the post, she navigated though traffic well and made high-level passes and decisions all weekend long.
#5 Alyssa Tribino 5’8 Guard, Northern Virginia 2026
Poised, efficient and confident young guard with a nice stroke for the perimeter. Nice first step, combined with deceptive quickness attacking off the bounce. Trubino has a nose for scoring the ball.
#73 Zya Small 6’0 Wing, PA 2027
Small is a lean, lanky 6-footer agile combo forward that brings it on both ends of the court. During camp she displayed range from 10-12 feet and showed the ability to play both facing and with her back to the basket. Mark this name down, this young OA prospect will be one of the next big names out of the NEPA.
Broughton, is a skilled young guard form South Jersey. Poised, deceptive, swaggy and a nifty ball handling point guard that gets into the lane with ease. Exhibited the ability to balance scoring and sharing the rock, range to the arc. Skilled lead guard that can use her strong ball handling and play making ability to control the flow of a game.
Legit scoring guard. Super, had a consistent two days of work. She did it from all over the court and from both ends. She got her shot off verses bigger players and finished with contact. Left impressed with this young guard that played amongst some high school players.
Poised backcourt game, high IQ, range beyond the arc. Nice feel for passing the ball both in transition and in half sets. Not yet the finished product, as she adds more strength to her frame she will be a force in the ultra-competitive Jersey shore conference.
Smooth scoring guard that can attack a defense from an assortment of way. Looked comfortable attacking off the bounce, used floaters to finish in the lane verses bigs. Played primarily off te ball during camp, range to the arc and pick up hoops concects quicckly.
#35 Mila Bissett 5’5 PG New York 2028
Bissette caught my eye from the beginning of camp during drills. Right from the jump you can see she was not a beginner. Dependable ball handler, Three level scorer that made plays.
#50 Ryann Jennings 5’10 Guard, PA 2026
At first glance I said this kid is a solid shooter. But after two days of watching her play, it is safe to say she is more than just a spot up shooter. Jennings, is a hard nose throwback player that plays multiple positions and is not afraid to do some of the dirty work.
#205 Camille Crooks 6’1 F, Maryland 2024
Crooks was one of the more polished interior players at the camp. She knocked down some perimeter shots during camp. But her poise in the paint and posts moves indicate she has been working with someone over the summer.
#202 Loren Green 5’5 PG New York 2027
Lead guard with combo skills, crafty off the dribble and dependable ball handler. Green was the three-point champion of the East Coast Takeover. During the Quarter finals she knocked down 34 of 50 threes. I find it hard to believe a high school coach won’t find minutes for her as an 8th grader in upstate New York.
