Whether it’s a quick glance down their roster or just a few minutes at their open gym, its doesn’t take long to realize that this is the most talented Christ the King team Head Coach Bob Mackey has had in years. The 27 time Brooklyn/Queens, 27 NYC Champs and 15 time state champs look primed to make another run.
Dominique Toussaint 5’8 G
Dom has a good IQ, athletic ability and work ethic which making her consistent and reliable on both ends of the court. Although she has been surrounded by playmakers during her high school career, she has the combination of talent and sound fundamentals that allow her to score and be a difference maker. The Virginia Cavalier commit looks ready to take on a leadership role.
Sydney Zambrotta 5’9 G
Zambrotta’s overall game is very smooth and under control; sinking jumpers, splitting the defense to get to the rim or finishing in transition is all within the framework of the Louisville bound lefty. She is in great shape and looked super focus on the season ahead. Zambrotta is known for her perimeter touch from beyond the arc.
Kaela Kinder 5’11 W
Kinder is a Virginia Tech commit and her stock has been on the rise after a good summer, in which she was able to show more guard skills. She has great size, is extremely athletic, has a dependable mid range shot and can handle responsibilities at any perimeter position at the HS level.
Brandy Thomas 5’08’ G/W
The rising sophomore and is a savvy player with the ball in her hands. Thomas is a powerful guard that operates mostly from the high-post or in the lane and is very good rebounder for her size.
Ashlie Howell 6’2 P
Howell is uncommitted senior bulky post she rebounds, protects the rim and gets trash buckets.
Kaelynn Satterfield 6’0 F
In Satterfield CK has a future star. She showed nimbleness to create separation or find lanes to the hoop by putting the ball on the floor at her size . During the open gym the gifted offensive minded forward not only attacked the rim but when left open she knocked down a few perimeter shot from three. Out of all the freshman on hand she looked the most varsity ready.
Jayleane Fisher 5’07” G
Her name may not be a household name but she will contribute in many ways for this talented team. Fisher has the ball handling skills to run the point and the scoring punch to switch over to the wing when needed. But her toughness and experience will be her calling card in her second season on the varsity.
Khadija Demry 5’6 PG
The Brooklyn resident may be the least know of the heralded freshman class. Demry is a late bloomer who has improved tremendously in the last few months. The slick ball handling PG will have to add strength and work on her perimeter shot in order to log meaningful minutes for the Royals as a freshman.
