Cambridge HS 5 foot 11, guard Lilly Phillips is off the clock as she commits to U of Albany to head coach Collen Mullen earlier today. NYGHR got a chance to speak to the star 2021, guard shortly after her commit. The first question we asked was, why Albany? Phillips responded: “Close to home, Coaching Staff & my major (Physical Therapy).” Philips averaged 15 points per game (PPG) this past season for the three-time Section II, Class C Champions and was named First Team All-State.
The Capital region star plays AAU for the Albany Based NY Havoc. Lilly plays at Cambridge HS with her twin sister Sophie and coached by her dad. When asked about her relationship with the coaching staff, she responded: “They have attended many games and even a soccer game; we talked weekly, feels like Family, and very supportive.”
Phillips chose U of Albany out of her final schools, which were Bryant, Manhattan, and Monmouth.
