Atlanta, GA- The inaugural The Bubble Academy, held at the OTE Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, brought together many of the nations’ top middle school basketball prospects under one roof. Talented young athletes traveled from Texas, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, California, Kansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, Michigan and even Canada to showcase their skills. The camp provided a platform for rising stars to compete and develop their talents in a highly competitive environment. The Bubble Academy set a stage for what promises to be an annual highlight in the basketball calendar. Below are some recaps from events top performers
2028
26 Leah DeWitt 5’8 (PG) Georgia 2028
Really enjoyed watching Leah play. She is not flashy or loud, but just as effective. Pull up on a dime for stop & pop opportunities. Played with her head up always looking to facilitate plays for others. Smooth glider that gets to her spots and elevate for high percentage shots.
12 Kaleigh Lucus 5’5 (PG) South Carolina 2028
Polished, versatile scoring pg, that exhibited the ability to score on three levels. Quick & fast, did a great job using both gears as needed. Excellent at creating he own shot but showed discipline at balancing between shooting and passing when needed.
25 Kamora Moore (G) Georgia 2028
Strong, dominant, quick, shifty and unselfish are the first few words that come to mind when reflecting on Moore’s performance over the weekend at the Bubble Academy. During 5 on 5 play, she could not be stopped at times. Although she had it going offensively... I love the fact that she was just as effective finding open teammates all weekend long.
63 Janiyah Hargrave 5’10 (G) Kentucky 2028
Athletic wing that has the physical tools and skills to become an Elite Division 1 prospect. During camp she showed the ability to play multiple positions offensively and guard 1-4 defensively. Used athleticism to convert while maintaining balance through contact.
62 Janiyah Boyd 5’7 (G) North Carolina 2028
This Team Curry prospect did not disappoint. Compact built combo, that can light it up. Capable of breaking down defense and finishing at the rim with contact. Boyd also took full advantage when the defense sagged off her and connected on the three ball. Love the way she let the game come to her and did not force up shots. She will be a name to follow in the Carolina’s.
20 Erin Thomas 6’2 (W) Ohio 2028
Long athletic build, at first take you may think she is a frontcourt player. As soon as drills and skills started it did not take long to realize she is a perimeter player. As she showcases her skill sets. Smooth, high IQ player, that was effective playing all positions at the Bubble.
28 Morghan Reckley (PG) Georgia 2028
Athletic, well rounded lead guard that was on her A-Game during the Bubble. Reckley exceled in multiple facets of the game. I left very impressed with her ability to make everything look so easy verses very talented prospects.
66 Taylor Stanfield 6’00 (W) Ohio 2028
I was very refreshing seeing Taylor get back on the court, after almost one year set back. She did not look 100% yet but trust me she did not disappoint at the Bubble. Her competitive nature & size to skill set ration jump right out to you. During camp she was most effective directing traffic playing on the ball, in catch and shoot situations and two-man games. She will be a major 2028 with the FBC Program.
64 Justice Alexander 6’1 (W) North Carolina 2028
Alexander is a prospect that brought size, ball handling skills and play making ability to the Bubble. She literally played the 1-4 at times and looked very comfortable. Her ability to initiate offense off defensive boards at her size provided an unfair advantage that she took full advantage of.
65 Odessa Kanton 6’3 (F) Pennsylvania 2028
Kanton may not be a household game, but the key stone state prospect opened some eyes this weekend at the Bubble. In youth hoops most times the height is the talent. In Odessa that is not the case. She looked very comfortable playing both with her back to the basket and facing the rim. She also provided perimeter shooting from behind the arc.
2029
11 Paris Wilson 5’6 (G) Georgia 2029
Thrived in the open court and in transition. Pulled up to the Bubble as if she had a point to prove. Did not know much about this peach state prospect prior to camp.
Both Hoosier state twins are deadly knock down shooters with area code range. Harper provided more of the ball handling and lead guard duties. While Kinsley handled some of the scoring load. Both displayed the ability to carry their own weight during camp. The Scaringe backcourt will be a force to be wrecking with in the Midwest for years to come.
15 Aleyiah Harris 5’6 (G) Missouri 2029
Harris had a nice showing both days. Coming into camp I did not know much about her. But it did not take long to see that Harris belonged amongst this elite group of athletes. Aleyiah grabbed my attention with her smooth effortless looking stroke. As she connected on a array of shots all weekend long.
3 Eyani Mills 6’1 (F) Missouri 2029
This young Missouri Phenom forward had a nice showing at the Bubble. Bouncy, athletic prospect showed some of the most versatility in the class. She did a great job attacking of the bounce, running the floor, and was just as effective working the paint.
70 Zoe Williams 5’5 (G) Georgia 2029
Was not too familiar with Williams coming into camp. But really like what she put together at camp in a limited amount of time. She did an exceptional job shooting from behind the arc as well as operating off the bounce. Zoe did a nice job, slivering through the cracks attacking the basket but when needed she used her strength to finish through contact.
42 Savayah Mitchell 5’6 (G) Indiana 2029
This WV Thunder guard was very quiet and to herself but as soon as camp tiped off she was ready to go! A lot of people took notice of her. Mitchell made every thing look easy and effortless. The slashing guard excelled in the up-tempo pace but also showed the ability to operate in half court sets.
69 Kristren Winston 5’9 (PG) Alabama 2029
Long, lean athletic guard that reminds me of a young Brittney Sykes (Washington Mystics). Versatility allowed her to play 1-3, she thrived in the open court. Winston contributed the same effort on both the offensive & defensive which is rare. Another thing that caught my eye was her ability play fast but not in a hurry and completely under control.
16 Anyia Parker 5’7 (G) Florida 2029
Parker understood the assignment coming into camp. She is a highlight in regard to the sunshine state middle school circle and the Bubble allowed her to test her talents against other high level middle schoolers. Parker did not disappoint, well-known for her scoring and shooting. Unofficially AP may have led all 7th graders in assists.
2030-2031
5 Allayia Ward (PG) California 2030
Strong, smart, smaller lead guard packed up her bag of tricks and brought them out east to the Bubble Academy. When you combine this Oakland, CA guards shooting, scoring & play-making abilities for such a young prospect. It easy to see what all the fuss is about. Really enjoyed watching her compete.
90 La’Kyiah Taylor 5’5 (G) Kentucky 2030
Athletic combo guard that plays bigger than her listed size. Taylor did a great job letting her game come to her, not forcing up shots. The young combo guard provided active efforts on both ends of the floor. Nice feel for scoring the ball, both in transition or in half court situations.
51 Mia Lawson (G) Pennsylvania 2030
The young exceptional combo guard has court awareness and ability to see plays develop was a step ahead off the competition. While not yet a finished product, I saw enough evidence to convince me she will be a major prospect out of the east coast running to Top Notch Lady Ballers out of NYC.
92 London Spencer 5’7 (G) Michigan 2030 Michigan Basketball Academy
Combo with a nice feel for the game, played at her own pace. Cooperated on both ends and played bigger than listed size. Spencer, demonstrated the ability to finish in the lane amongst the trees in 5 on 5 play. In the near future this will be a name you hear more of form the Mitten.
18 Iyanna Holloman 5’5 (G) 2030
Holloman always found herself in or around the action. Maintain a high level of activity throughout the camp. A two-way type of player that can become a stat sheet stuffer at the next level.
96 Ace Schroeder 5’6 (G) Tennessee 2031
Skilled young talented combo with some handles and confidence with range beyond the arc. Playing amongst her peers 5th-6th graders. She was able to get into the paint and create, score or get a lot of calls.
97 Kalei Douglass 5’2 PG California 2031
Hard nose, scrapy slasher that backs down from nothing. She spent time playing pick-up with the older prospects, you could not tell she was only in the 5th grade if not told so. Was willing to mix it up on the defensive ended getting in on multiple tie-up loose ball situations. Exhibited some ability to knock for perimeter shots.
91 Lindy Shine 5’5 (PG) Michigan Basketball Academy 2030
21 Hailey Houlder 5’6 (PG) Georgia 2028
23 Angelina Medlock 5’7 (G) Texas 2029
38 Mickiyah Fields 5’5 (G) Georgia 2029 Atlanta Celtics zone6
93 Taylor Flournoy 5’7 (G) California 2030 Why Not Premier
Strong downhill finished through contact
90 La’Kyiah Taylor 5’ 5 (G) Kentucky 2030
46 Arianna Walker (G) Pennsylvania 2030 TEAM PA
9 Lala Ladd 5’3 (PG) Washington 2031
49 Jylin Edmonson 5’11 (F) Kentucky 2030
