Westchester, NY- NYGHoops Report got the chance to stop into the 2016 Monroe College Invitational on the last day of this three-day event that hosted eight different Northeastern junior college teams.
Anriana Cordoba 6’03 F (ASA College 2018)
This was my first time seeing the Columbian prospect; I was impressed. She had a slim sleek built with long-armed, very efficient player that did not require her number called to produce. She ran the floor well showed good foot-work in the lane and was very active on the boards and running the floor.
Lanay Rodney 5’08 G (Monroe CC 2018)
A Westchester, N.Y. Resided was known a Prolific high school scorer. Her overall approach to the game has shifted from a primarily offensive-minded player to a more complete player playing on both ends. Rodney’s range extends beyond the three-point line and has shown improvements in rebounding, slashing, ball handling and defending.
Cristina Soriano 6’04 P (Monroe College 2018) Pictured
This was also my first time seeing this young lady. She is not a finished product yet put showed tremendous upside. Long, athletic built offensive minded posts that need to add strength. She showed a good understanding of the game, good agility for her size.
Shania Johnson 5’01 PG (Monroe College 2017)
Cat quick Maryland area floor general, Johnson is a playmaker in the definition of the word. She demonstrated the ability to both run the team as well as score. Showed the capacity to play half court pick and roll basketball as well as in transition. She did also display the ability to play fast but not in a hurry.
Amber Wilson 6’01 W/F (ASA College 2018) URI Commit
There where very few wings as gifted as this freshman in her class at this event as the 6’01, New England prospect. A skilled slasher who is excellent finishing with both hands also equipped with some ball handling skills. Combined with her length, passing ability and ball handling skills, Amber also displayed the capacity to shoot from behind the arc.
Sierra Green 5’08 G (Monroe CC 2018)
I’m quite familiar with the Queens resident; she did nothing to disappoint at the event. When both feet are set, she was automatic from behind the arc in the first half connecting on multiple three-pointers. She finished the night with 20 points while going 6 of 11 from three.
Shawnice Gresham 6’01 F (Harcum CC, 2018)
Strong athletic forward that did a very good job on the boards. Gresham is a very agile, inside player, that brings production in the form of rebounding, defending and protecting the rim. Should slashes on the offensive end.
Kathryn Kanhoye 5’09 W (Monroe CC 2018)
Drazana Vulic 6’00 F (Harcum CC 2017)
Donasja Scott 5’11 F (Baltimore CC 2017)
Courtney Crawford 6’00 F (Baltimore CC 2017)
Camilla Kilinc 5’09 G (Monroe College 2017)
