Every year players go under the radar throughout the country. One player that has been a name popping up on multiple occasions is 2024 5’5 PG Rylie Ronsenberg of New Rochelle high school. Coaches and teams in NY State section 1, are quite familiar with the junior guard who averaged 12.2 as a fresham and 18.6 as a sophomore. Now some northeast college coaches are starting to take notice. She recentley visited Manhattan, NJIT & Canisius this prior to her season . NYGHoops Report got a chance to catch up with the talented Rosenberg & her cousin Avery Labarbera (Wisconsin WBB) .When asked who’s is your favorite WNBA player and what are some of the things you have been working on since the summer. She ocnfidently responded “Sabrina Ionesco ; agility and strength training, pull up floater, getting to line.” Rylie plays travel ball for Emprire State Blue Flames. I also asked her abouther goals, “ My team goals for this season are league and section championships.; my personal goals are super 7 and repeat as all-section.”I also got a chance to talk the Wisconsin guard, Labarbera, on her cousin.
"First and foremost I am really proud of Rylie and all of her accomplishments. I know how hard she works and I know it’s going to eventually pay off. Reflecting back on my high school career and comparing it to Rylie’s, I think what we both share is our ability to score the ball. I think Ry is more consistent from the three point line, but we are always counted on to hit a shot when needed. Rylie reminds me of my younger self as she is determined, motivated and a total gym rat. I always have admired her work ethic and her dedication to get better."
