Kania Pollock (2018), a local Queens, NY product, is beginning to emerge on the national level after a productive spring evaluation period. NYGHoops Report had a chance to catch up to the 5-foot-8 lead guard upon her return from the Deep South Classic in Raleigh, North Carolina. Pollock currently holds offers from Iona, St Joe’s & LA Tech.
“I don't want the school to be too far from home because my mom is disabled. I also don't want the school to be close because I would like to go away,” Pollock stated. Kania carried her Brooklyn based Boy & Girls HS team to the Public School Athletic League playoffs while also leading her team in many statistical categories (11 PPG, 11 RBS & 5 APG). When asked what will be important to her in the decision-making process she did not hesitate in saying “I look at the bonding between the team, the team and the coaches, and the area in which the school is located”.
Pollock who has already visited St Joe’s informed me that “it's a cool school. I love the energy and connection between players and coaches.” Upon her return from playing in evaluation period the past two weekends she has started to hear from Monmouth, St John's, Maryland, Miami, Florida, Louisville, St Bonaventure, Temple, Dayton Siena, James Madison, Siena, Akron, La Salle & New Hampshire. She plans on visiting a few more schools in the spring and pledged to keep NYGHoops Report informed.
