East Orange, NJ – NYGHoops Report got a chance to take a trip to the Garden State to check out New Heights Open Court. The event showcased two games filled with prospects from the New Heights organization. This write-up will focus on some of the prospects from the underclassman game.
Skye Hunter 5’7 PG Immaculate Conception NJ 2025
Smooth combo guard that did most of her damage going north to south. Nice Stroke, three level efficient scorer that made if look effortless at times. I foresee a nice freshman campaign this winter in her first year of HS in North Jersey.
Kaila Richards 5’5 G Hotchkiss Prep CT 20205
Shifty combo threat in the backcourt with advanced package of finishing moves at the rim. Richards took advantage of every crease in the defense, collapsing defenses and making quick decisions to find his own shot or to dump off.
Kennedy Broughton 5’1 Middle School NJ 2028
Broughton did not look the part as being one of the youngest prospects in attendance. The young New Jersey guard was fearless. The maturity in her game was on display with her decision making during the run.
Mya Abraham 5’11 W/F Gil ST Bernard NJ 2025
Always enjoy watching Mya, her size and skill sets jumps right out at you. She brings frontcourt toughness and versatility. Has the ability to both play inside and out. Range to the arc, and the ability to fond teammates. As she continues to work on her perimeter skills, she reminds me of a Faith Masonius do it all type 3 / 4 player.
Grace Lanier 5’5 PG Xaverian HS NY 2025
Lanier keeps getting better each time out. She gets into the lane with ease when she has the ball in her hands. Displayed a good feel for the game which helped her anticipates well on the defensive end. One of the things that stood out the most during the run was her stroke form behind the arc.
Emma Olousson 5’7 G Hamden Hall Country Day HS CT 2025
Olousson will grow on you quick. High percentage shooter with a nice stroke form behind the arc. She has a nice feel for the game and court awareness of a player well beyond her years.
Allena Dinker 5’6 PG St Johns Vianney NJ 2025
She is not flashy but a steady dependable floor general that makes plays. She gets teammates the ball where they want it. Showed some range on her shot, can go unnoticed because she just goes about her business with no emotions. Danker, makes winning play. I’m sure she will log some minutes as a freshman on one of the state top teams.
Leah Crosby 5’11 F St Thomas Aquinas HS NJ 2025
This was my first time seeing her. What’s not to like about Crosby? She has a long lean athletic frame but plays stronger than her frame suggests. She was super active on the boards and keeping plays alive. Showed some ability to knock down 8-10 footers. As she continues to refine her perimeter skill this is a player to keep an eye out for.
Veralyn Aviles 5’7 G Murry Bergtraum HS NY 2025 Sophia Taylor 6’2 F ST Jeans Baptiste HS NY 2025 Faith Williamson 57 PG Saddle River Day HS NJ 2025
