FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS - MIDDLE SCHOOL -  OPEN RUN - Charlotte, NC

 

November 2 - 2018 - Talbert Recreation Center

 

With the High School season approaching in the Carolinas - NYGHoops and Carolina Girls Hoops Report came together and hosted Friday Night Lights - An Open Run format for Middle School players from NC, SC & VA to compete against each other in front of Local & National evaluators to gain exposure. 76 players attended the event and I have identified a few that stood out.

 

• 2023 - 5’11” - Wing - Reychel Douglas - Carolina Dream Team - Established herself as 1 of the Top Players in NC 2023 Class - Name to know Nationally as Top Player - Strong ball handler that uses Elite Athleticism to create shots for herself and others - Long - Rebounds on both side of the floor - Range to beyond 3pt line.

 

• 2023 - 5’10” - Guard - Drew Alexander - Lady Phoenix - 1 of the Top Prospects in the NC 2023 Class - Athletic - Highly skilled player that can shoot the ball consistently to well beyond the 3pt line - Strong ball handler - Plays both sides of the floor.

 

• 2024 - 4’11” - Guard - Zamareya Jones - Team 252 - The most exciting player to watch in NC - Highly skilled lead guard that can compete against any age group - Elite ball handler - Creative  - Crafty - Has a variety of ways to attack the rim, advanced scoring ability - Pesky defender that creates transition opportunities.

 

• 2023 - 5’7” - Guard - Kymora Johnson - Teal Loaded VA - Highly skilled    combo guard that can score at All 3 levels - High IQ player that is a skilled passer and Competes on both sides of the floor - Consistent Jump shooter that has range to beyond 3pt line - 1 of Top players in VA 2023 Class.

 

• 2023 - 5’6” - Guard - Sydney Barker - Carolina Dream Team - High IQ - Lead guard with the ability to be primary scorer - Great shot form and ability to hit jumper while moving or set - Highly skilled player that uses ball handle to create shots - 1 of the Top players in NC 2023 Class.

 

• 2023 - 5’10” - Wing - Olivia McElroy - 1Dream - Skilled, Athletic  - Wing that uses her long frame to create opportunities on the offensive end - strong ball handler, great vision and passing ability with a high motor - Rebounds on both ends of the floor.

 

• 2024 - 5”3” - Guard - Kiara Croskey - SC76ers - Athletic - Highly skilled lead guard that can attack off the dribble to score or pass - Strong perimeter defender that is able to control the tempo on both sides of the floor - 1 of the top players in SC 2024 Class.

 

• 2023 - 5’7” - Guard - NaKhauriey Little - Carolina Elite - High IQ combo guard that can play all 3 positions on the perimeter - Athletic player that can shoot the ball consistently and has advanced passing skills

 

• 2023 - 5’11” - Forward - Isabella Childs - NC Lady Ballers - Athletic back to basket player with strong ball handling ability - Great shot form and range out to 3pt line - Rebounds in traffic - Competes on both ends of the floor.

 

• 2023 - 5’6” - Guard - Christiana Young - Team Felton Girls - High IQ lead guard that has Elite level passing skills, Great ball handler - Can run the team but also add scoring. Christiana is a player that will Win basketball games at every level.

 

• 2023 - 6’2” - Post - Corrie McLaughlin - Carolina Dream Team - Long - Athletic post player that is developing strong ball handling and shooting skills. Played very well as a Rim protector and Rebounded the ball on both sides of the floor. Hugh Upside!!

 

• 2023 - 5’4” - Guard - Mia Xerras - Attack 365 Basketball - Highly skilled lead guard with strong ball handling ability and elite level passing skills - Great shot form and range to 3pt line -  High IQ player that loves to create off the bounce for others and to get her own. Creates a highlight reel of Flashy plays.

 

• 2024 - 5’7” - Guard - Reese Wilson - Charlotte Monarchs - High IQ - Skilled combo guard that has the ability to play all 3 perimeter positions, strong ball handler that has great shot form and range to beyond 3pt line - Competes on both ends of the floor

 

• 2023 - 5’8” - Guard - Kyla Bryant - Team Felton Girls - Physical - Strong - Athletic lead guard that has ability to attack off the bounce to score or dish. Great frame and ability to finish with contact and can rebound the ball. High IQ and plays well on both ends of the floor.

 

• 2023 - 5’6” - Guard - Kyah Smith - Cap City Ballers - Highly Skilled and Athletic Combo guard that can control the pace of play, Flashy handle that can get other players involved and create for herself, Outstanding 2 way player - 1 of the top Guard prospects in VA 2023 Class

 

• 2024 - 6’1” - Post - Ella Hobbs - Lake Norman Hornets - Long, Athletic Post that played strong around the Basket - Controlled the offensive backboard and converted consistently, showed great body control - Runs the floor very well, emerging as the top NC Post prospect in her class

 

• 2023 - 5’10” - Forward - Kimyah Foggie - Lady Team SC - Long, Athletic player with strong back to the Basket skills and the ability to control rebounding on both ends of the floor - Strong ball handling and passing ability - Huge upside!!

 

• 2023 - 5’8” - Guard - Kylie Chavis - NC Team Thunder - Athletic Wing player that can play all 3 Guard positions, can attack the Basket off the bounce and loves to play the transition game. Perimeter defender that uses her length and great footwork to make things difficult.

 

• 2023 - 5’7” - Guard - Lindsay Suitt - Carolina Dream Team - Slasher that is long and can create off the bounce - Can really get up and down the floor and finish in traffic. Athletic player that uses her length and High IQ to compete on a high level, on both sides of the floor.

 

• 2023 - 5’4” - Guard - Maraja Pass - Carolina Elite - Highly Skilled lead guard that can control the tempo of play with her strong perimeter defense and attacking style in transition - Athletic - Very fast with the ball in her hands and can finish in traffic consistently.
