Rockville, S.C. - Recently, Carolina Girls Hoops & NYGHoops Report collaborated to bring some much-needed attention to middle school hoopers. Known as the “Middle School Spotlight” offered two sessions and each session provided participants with a segment dedicated to skill development, good individual competition, and an opportunity to compete during against (4) teams within each session. These are some of the standouts of the one day event.
Kamryn Kitchen 5’8 G North Carolina 2025
Super confident combo guard that “let the game come to her”. An effective perimeter shooter with range to the arc. Deceptive athlete she executed the play of the day in 5 on 5 actions. While in transition throwing the ball between her legs in the air and attempting and making a layup. We left the event very impressed with her & her abilities.
Tamia Watkins 6’1 Forward, South Carolina 2025
A face-up forward, with athletic ability and agility. Active in the rebounding on both ends off then floor who embraces contact and physical play. The left hander shows some ability to put the ball on the floor. At this stage, she plays mostly around the rim and does a good job of finishing in traffic. She has a nice feel for the game as evident in her passing ability. Left impressed watching her play.
Jasmine Nivar 5’8 Guard, North Carolina 2025
The Carolina Flames combo guard is the Younger Sister of Indya Nivar (2022).. However, it won’t be long before the name Jasmine Nivar ring bells on a national level. The smooth athletic guard handled the ball very well and pushed her team’s tempo throughout the event. She distributed the ball to teammates but also used her ability to finish with flair which made “it” look too easy, at times.
Ja’Nyia Cunningham 6’2 Forward, South Carolina 2027
She was one of the youngest prospects at camp, if not the youngest. Nevertheless, don’t let that fool you she may have been one of the most physical prospects in the building. Cunningham plays with her back to the basket, gets deep position and finishes though contact. Confident, coordinated, good hands and rim protector.
Zhykera Brown 5’9 Guard, South Carolina 2025
An “off” guard with scorer’s mentality, strong build and range to the arc. A deceptive 1 on 1 creator who used various combo moves to create space to get to the basket where she displayed the ability to use her body to protect the ball.
Janiya Milligan 6’0” Forward, North Carolina 2026
An athletic combo forward size with a wing skill set. Throughout the event we got the sense she blocked every shot thus earning the nick name “Block Party”. She showed the ability to start the break and even took the lead in the open court by going coast to coast on several occasions.
Jaida McClure 5’8 Guard, North Carolina 2026
Confident, guard with scorer’s mentality deep range game with confidence in stroke. Handles and attacks in tempo game; one of the top scores in her class in the Carolina’s.
Kate Sears 5’8 PG North Carolina 2025
A smooth agile guard with swagger and deceptive athletic ability. As the lead guard, she did a good job balancing between scoring and distributing. She played at her own pace with a great deal of confidence. She displayed the ability to stretch the court with her shooting range.
Lancey Shook 5’8 North Carolina 2026
A shooting guard who knocked down shots especially in traffic and in open space. She brought a efficient scorer’s mentality to South Carolina and an ever growing level of confidence which was evident in her outperforming most from behind the arc.
Danauje Brooks 5’5 Point guard, North Carolina 2024
A quick lead guard that got into the lane with ease. Showed the ability to compete both in up-tempo and half court situations. Showed some ability to score in traffic all the while being a dependable ball handler. Her ability to change pace made it relatively easy for her to find teammates for good shot attempts.
Aubrey Stevenson 5’6 Point guard, South Carolina 2025
Delilah Soltys 5’4 PG, South Carolina 2025
Breonna Roaf 5’7 Point guard, North Carolina 2025
