Garden City, NY- As the action picked up at Adelphi University on the second day of the 2014 Lady Choz Queens of NY, NYGHoops Report was on site observe the Post-heavy event. While big name players such as Brianna Frasser had a nice day, some lesser-known players put a big buzz in the building.
Brianna Frasser 6'3 F (South Shore HS, NY 2015) The Fleet-footed NYC Gauchos forward was a double-double machine; she was clearly the best player in the gym. Brianna's athletic ability and skill set allowed her to play multiple positions. Frasser, a University of Maryland commit, looked college ready at times shooting from as far out as the 3 point line.
Brittaney Gardner 6'3 P (HS Unknown, NJ 2018) The Sturdy-Built Freedom Stars post had a great showing playing up in age groups. She played with desire and had a physical, hard -nose attitude in the lane. She also showed flashes with a couple of post moves that she converted in easy baskets. Gardner grabbed numerous rebounds and blocked many shots. As she continues to expand her game she will be a name to remember.
Kalista Walters 6'2 F (Bethlehem Catholic PA 2015) The Philly Triple Threat forward is your classic, new age do-it- all forward. She was efficient defensively and terrific on the boards. Walters shot the ball very comfortably from 12-15 feet and even connected on a few threes. She did most of her scoring facing the basket and attacking the rim. When she headed inside she did a good job fighting for post positioning and catching in traffic.
Achol Manyang 6'1 F (Utica Proctor HS, NY 2017) The Utica City Rocks Wing/Forward was the breakout player of the weekend. In fact, she was so off the radar that nobody could quite figure out the correct spelling of her name. She is a bit raw but show flashes of tremendous potential. Achol is a long, lean and athletic prospect that blocked shots, rebounded and showed some ability to put the ball on the floor and attack off the dribble.
Olivia Owens 6'3 P (Holy Names Academy, NY 2018) The Albany City Rock 13 year old is a long and athletic post player that is getting better every time she steps on the basketball court. She operated primarily from the elbow and the post on offense. She showed good speed for someone her size and good awareness for a young post. She is a solid defender who did a good job staying of her feet and timing her shot blocking.
Autumn Tuesdale 6'00" F (Chapin School, NY 2016) She is the definition of a blue-collar big man as she imposes her will on the low-block with her strong play and workman-like demeanor. She is a high-energy forward with a steadily progressing all-around game. She was always chasing down rebounds and loose balls. Playing with a talented senior-laden NYC Gauchos front court, she does a lot with limited touches and reminds me of a Charles Oakley typ
