Ewing, NJ- This past weekend Incarnation St. James School housed some of NY, NJ, PA & DE’s top rising freshman (2020) at the 3
rd annual Gthing All Star Classic. NYGHoops Report was on hand to evaluate the talented Northeast prospects. While every individual was talented these are some of the prospects I feel I got a good grasp on and their level of play.
Watson is super athletic, strong, agile, tough and physically dominant post player , that showed enough skill set to play all five positions if needed. The projected post/forward showed natural shot blocking abilities, above average ball handling skills and a natural ability to create ways to score. As one of the top players amongst a very talented group is was extremely empresses with the number of times she hit the floor diving for loose balls. She was named MVP of the game.
Shania Davis 5’05” PG (ST Elizabeth HS, Wilmington DE 2020)
I knew nothing about this guard going into this event, but it did not take long to realize she belonged amongst these all stars. Davis was special off the dribble, showed nice court vision and ability to score. She was crafty with the ball in her hands creating for herself and teammates. In my opinion if not for a second quarter ankle injury she would have gave Watson a run for her money as the games MVP.
Jasmine Lyles G (Rutgers Prep, Franklin Township, NJ 2020)
Lyles nice first step, quickness, and strength allowed her to get to the basket time and time again during the event. The southpaw got to the free throw line and finished with contact during the event. Lyles showed some range on her shot but looked more like a scorer than flat out shooter.
Kayla Johnson 6’01 W (South Shore HS, Brooklyn, NY 2020)
Johnson showed some guard like skills that translated at the high school level with her size. She operated mostly facing the basket off the bounce, showing potential as a rebounder and the ability to start the break.
Kemari Reynolds 5’06 PG (Manchester HS, Manchester Township, NJ 2020)
While many may have scored more points than her she showed some strong qualities that translate perfectly into the high school game. Reynolds was fundamentality sound with her ball handling and ability to finish strong with both hands attacking the basket. However, her athletic ability and aggressive on ball defense will find her minutes on most HS teams in the state of NJ. She finished with 8 points all in the first half.
Anna Morris 6’03 P (Immaculate Heart HS Washington Township NJ 2020)
Olivia Mullins 5’09 G (Rutgers Prep, franklin Township, NJ 2020)
Molly Lynch 5’07 G (St Rose HS, Belmar, NJ 2020)
Keylah Barnes 6’00 W/F (ST Thomas More HS, Magnolia, DE 2020)
Heaven Figueroa 5’06” PG (Lawrenceville Prep HS, Lawrenceville, NJ 2020)
Leiya Stuart 5’09” G (Westtown HS, West Chester PA 2020)
Raquel Longobardi 5’04 PG (Christ the King HS, Middle Village, NY 2020)
Shani Gerrald 5’07 G (Manchester Regional HS, Haledon NJ, 2020)
Bella Stuart 5’09 G (Shenendehowa HS, Clifton Park, NY 2020)
Jariah Patterson 5’08 (Immaculate Conception HS, Lodi NJ 2020)
