6-foot-1, Piscataway HS (NJ) rising senior
Kaelonn Wilson has made her college plans. Wilson has decided to play for the Mid-American Conference 2019 tournament champs, Buffalo University and head coach Felisha Legette-Jack. Last season Wilson led Piscataway high school to a 16-10 record, while averaging a 9.9 points & 13.5 rebounds per game.
NYGHoops Report got a chance to speak to
the Garden State star.
“The coaching staff at University at Buffalo is amazing,” said Wilson.
When asked about some of her future goals she said, “My goals are to get my college degree, play in the WNBA, and work to become one of the greatest players to ever play the game.”
Wilson who plays travel ball in the Under-Amour circuit with Team Rio, had interest from other schools prior to deciding on UB. The long armed rebounding forward capped the conversation by explaining her decision further
“I’m looking for a school where I feel like it’s a home away from home for me. College is my next step after high school and I will be there for several years of my life, so the atmosphere and character really mean a lot.”
Kaelonn was chosen first team All GMC red division, while finishing 15th in the state in rebounding and averaging slightly over
two
steals
per game as a junior. She is one of NYGHR front runners to lead the state in rebounding next year.
