When you combine her size, athletic ability, strength and motor, she was like a man child. I did not officially keep stats but no one got to the line more than her. She showed the ability to score facing the rim as well as with her back to the basket. Embry was damn near automatic in transition because of her size. (Oklahoma State commit).
Chaniya Clark 6’02 P Florida Future (FL)
As they say don’t judge a book by its cover, that sayingdoes apply to Clark. Prior to the game, she looks like the typical token biggest kid on the roster that just takes up space in the lane. But two possessions in you can see she is a player. She has a nice soft touch around the rim, a baby hook, yes a real scoring threat. She also proved to be nimble on her feet, which helped her in shot blocking straight up and from the help side.
Greta Kampschroeder 6’00 W the Truth Basketball (IL)
May sound crazy but a college ready frame and very quickly evolving perimeter skill sets. Greta played super hard on both ends of the floor and displayed three level scoring ability. Her ability to rebound, defend inside as well as outside combined with ball handling makes her a name to remember.
O’Mariah Gordon 5’05 Florida Future (FL)
Quick, fast, strong, explosive all in one. Gordon used her ball handling skills to help herself get in the lane and was at her best driving and dishing. She did not do much scoring but that was not needed to see she was an elite level player.
Raven Johnson 5’06 PG FBC (GA)
Athletic lead guard with a selfless mentality, smooth off the bounce. Did a good job anticipating and coming up with multiple steals. Delivered in transition and has some school yard creativity.
Aaronette Vonleh 6’02 F Fast Basketball (TX)
Sturdy framed forward, nimble on her feet with a soft touch around the rim. Protected the rim blocking shots and converted at the free throw-line.
Janel Moore 5’04 PG IExcel (NJ)
Strong, quick, deceptive guard that handles and can flat at get to the rim. Moore used her quick hands and feet verses the opposition on the defensive end and creating many turnovers. On the offensive end she created for herself off steals, simply blowing by the defender. She also displayed the ability to drive and dish.
Lashae Dwyer 5’05 PG Toronto Matrix (CA)
Dwyer may have gotten the top perimeter defender award at this event if there was such thing. On more than one occasion she just picked the opposing PG walking up the ball. On the offensive end she demonstrated some explosiveness and speed attacking the rim. As she develops her perimeter shot she will be a name to remember.
Caroline Ducharme 6’01 G MCW Starz (MA)
Big time player with many tools, scorers mind set, has stroke and range off the bounce. Can get to the rim off the bounce and moves without ball. Did a good job rebounding
Taylor Bigby 5’11 W Vegas Bulldogs (NV)
Big timer Athlete that plays and looks bigger than listed size. Can put the ball on the floor to attack or to create for others. Showed some touch with her shot as well as ability to play in the lane.
Sanaii Wilson 6’00 F Albany City Rocks (NY)
Physical, Great built, good athlete, will mix it up with bigger/talller players, showed ability to play both facing and with back to the basket. Shot blocker and rebounder.
