Corona, CA- EGB Elite 100 has become a west-coast end of the summer extravaganza, where players got to solidify their standing or make a name for them selves. This year’s second annual EGB Elite 100 event was no different. With national media coverage provided by outlets from Florida, Texas and Ohio. NYGHoops Report was also on hand to provide blanket coverage.
Keilanei Cooper 2017 (CA)
I could not believe this rising senior has not already committed. Cooper displayed superior skill sets combined with a scorer’s mind-set. She played both on and off the ball, displayed nice handles and showed her ability to knock down the three ball on a consistent manner.
Myrrah Arieta-Joseph 2018 (CA)
Arieta-Joseph was a pleasure to watch over the two-day period where she was always smiling and giving maximum effort. The powerfully built forward, was light on her feet, crafty and skilled. She showed enough touch from the perimeter to keep defenders honest. Simple way to describe her is a throw back player that did a bit of everything in today’s specialist era.
Charisma Osborn 2019 (CA)
Smooth, heady guard that always keeps her eyes up-court looking for opportunities. Osborn showed a natural feel for the game. She took good shots and did not force anything, good facilitator on offense and showed her willingness to defend. She was able to turn the corner on anyone who would be defenders her during the two-day event.
De Jesus Vanessa 2020 (CA)
Simple word to describe her was spicy… Showed some razzle dazzle in her game but don’t mistake that for street ball. She was always under control and two steps ahead of the defense. She displayed range to the three-point line, yoyo handles, vision, mid range shot and a superior ability to diagnose plays seconds before they happened.
Taylor Bigby (NV) 2021
This long young athlete forward flashed tons of potential in both drill and completion. However, where she stood out most was during 5-on-5 play verses the high school kids. Her long strides allowed her to run on both ends of the court and demonstrated her ability to finish at the rim and rebound.
Jassalyn Finney (AZ) 2021
From start to finish Finney played as if she had a point to prove at the event. With her size and skill set she was able to play on the perimeter as well as in the paint area. She showed good footwork while posting up and natural strength to finish through contact. Finney showed flashes from behind the arc and also handled the ball well enough to create.
Kam’Ren Rhodes (AZ) 2022
Cat quick first step that goes 0 to 60 in no time. Rhodes got to the rim with ease and showed her ability to score over taller players. As the competition got harder the better she played while demonstrating good ball handles, she saw the floor well, with good outlet passing being a feisty little guard.
Macie James (CA) 2022
Long athlete that was effective in both transitions as well was in half court play. James did a good job elevating at the rim, running the floor and blocking shots in her age group. But when she played with the older girls she also showed her ability to knock the three point shot down.
