LUHI’s backcourt -sophomore’s Paris Clark & Emma Van Essen caught fire early finishing the first half with a combined 31 points. NYGHoops Report got a chance to speak to Clark. When asked about her mindset for the first game of her sophomore season, here is her response:
“My mindset was to just play the game and have fun. I knew me and my team were going to do fine because we have been preparing for this for about 2 months.”
When asked about her fast start she goes on to say :
“ I didn’t realize I had 20 points in the first half, I feel like I have something to prove this year; I need to help my team win while keeping my stats consistent. I feel like the earlier on I can score and separate my team from the other team, I can be less selfish later in the game and help everybody get theirs.”
Paris led all scorers with 25 points in three quarter. Showing why she is regarded as one of the top prospects at her position in her class nationally. Other top scorer for LUHI 2021 Simona Visokaite 16 points, 2022 Emma Van Essen 11 points. 2020 Mary Lee Mitchell led Curtis with 10 points.
