Jasmine Brunson of Queens, N.Y. and her recruiting has elevated to a new level while playing travel ball with the Queens based Positive Direction AAU program. Brunson was tracked by the
nyghoopsreport.com staff in February/March while playing H.S. ball. The 5-foot-7 combo guard was a bit tentative in the CHSAA playoffs coming off a hand injury, but Brunson opened some eyes with her play in the spring evaluation period earning scholarship offers from Stony Brook, St. Peter's, Lipscomb and FDU.
Last night NYGHR got a chance to speak to the Positive Direction Director Joann Arbitello-Pinnock about her star player . "A player like Jas comes along every few years. She is talented, works hard, no headaches, very coachable and gets it done in the classroom. I realized she was special when she was going up against older players at P.D. like Simone Hobdy and Jasmine Nwajei and she could hold her own probably around the 8th grade".
Within 24 hours of her return to New York from the first half of the NCAA evaluation period from Run 4 the Roses (KY) and Battle in the Boro (TN). The Mary Louis academy rising senior guard picked up offers from Minnesota, Marshall, North Carolina A & T, Niagara, Hofstra & Detroit.
