Bronx, NY – After a two-year hiatus this was NYG Hoops first event back in the Big Apple. The NYG Super 64 skills, drills and evaluation camp did not disappoint. Just like in years past many of the names you will hear in the future spent the day camping with us at Monsignor Scanlan High School in the Bronx. Below are some of the award winners of camp as well as other top performers of the day.
Middle School CO-MVP: 2026 Samantha Eller 5’10 G (MD)
2026 Ava LaMonica 5’8 G (NJ)
Hustle Award: 2028 Annie Gentile 5’3 PG (NJ)
Camper of the Day: 2026 Josephine Pinnock 5’5 PG (NY) 2027
Defensive Player of the Day: 2026 Julia Scott 6’1 F (NY)
#27 Ava LaMonica 5’7 G (NJ) 2026
Throwback, jack of all trades. She won the camp co-MVP and the 1 on 1 competition. Nice blend of power and athleticism with a nice shooting touch with range from beyond the arc. Next year she will be a household name in the Garden State.
#76 Samantha Eller 5’11 (VA) 2026
CO-MVP of the camp. Smooth wing / guard that excelled in the open court and in 1 on 1 situations. Nice size, IQ and feel for the game. Competed at both end of the floor, I’m sure you will be hearing this name again sooner than later.

#53 Samantha Grella 5’10 G/W (NJ)
Be sure to keep an eye out for this athletic built lefty with a nice stroke from the perimeter. Not too may are familiar with her but she did catch my eye. Made the right plays, played within herself and was efficient with her touches.
#52 Selena Kareem 5’8 G (NJ) 2028
This was my third time seeing this young lady in the past year and a half. Simply put she is wired to score and excelled in transition. Always playing up at least two age groups this 6th grader never looks out of place. Playing up with Books & Basketball 2026 team has served her well. She looked very comfortable amongst the older girls during camp.
#8 Amaya Veras 5’3 PG (NJ) 2027
Strong on ball defender. Uses her size & strength to her advantage. Nice first step gets her past the first line of defense, upper body strength allows her to finish or get fouled at the second level.
#54 Nayeli Riveran 5’5 (NY) 2026
Solid built active combo with range to the arc. Hardnose on ball defender that is not afraid to take a charge. Plays bigger than listed size and was always willing to make the right play.
#2 Josephine Pinnock 5’5 PG (NY) 2027
Pinnock won camper of the day while only in the 7th grade the 5-foot-5 point guard (Queens, N.Y.) Was efficient and displayed the ability to balance distribution vs scoring. Range to the arc, good understanding how to get into the lane and what to do once in the lane. Comes from a basketball bloodline. Get us to seeing this name NYC.

#50 Maria Ribeiro 5’06 (NY) 2026
Smooth guard with IQ, showed some ability to excel both in halfcourt and transition. While not yet a finished product, most Empire Blue Flames prospects improve as their careers progress.
#56 Ava Thomas PG 5’5 (NY) 2026
Yoyo handles ,one of the top ball handlers at the event. Maneuvered in and out of traffic effortlessly, thrived in transition & in drive and kick situations.
#4 Annie Gentile 5’2 PG (NJ) 2026
High basketball IQ floor general that showed the ability to consistently knock down midrange shots. One of the youngest players at camp another Garden state guard that will be making a name for herself in the next few years.
#51 Jayah Curtis 5’8 G (NJ) 2026
Curtis did a nice job anticipating passes coming up with a few steals and creating transition buckets for herself. She uses her length well specially on the defensive end, making it hard for smaller guards to shoot over her coming up with multiple closeout block shots. Displayed some ability to knock down shots from behind the arc.
#37 Julia Scott 6’1 F (NY) 2026
Saw this young lady in the winter, just a few months later she is an inch taller and playing like new money. More of a face up European style player on the offensive end. During camp she displayed the ability to knock down the mid-range shot consistently. She also showed the ability to knock down the trail three ball. During camp she was by far the most dominant defensive player at the event.
