Over the past five years, Grand Street Campus HS has produced its share of scholarship athletes. But none have entered into the school with the size of Kimora Taylor, who stands 6 foot 5. The flee footed athletic post wasted no time making her mark in the PSAL Brooklyn AA Division. NYGHR got a chance to speak to Top Notch Lady Ballers Coach Nick Lopez about his player. Here’s what he had to say:
“Kimora freshman year was solid she averaged a double- double (11 points & 12 rebounds); She is only Scratching the surface of her potential.”
Once her sophomore year comes around, Coach Lopez expects to see an even more complete player in Taylor, as she is athletic, understands what is expected of her, and with better experience as she has only started playing hoops around her 6
th or 7
th grade year.
“Kimora needs to become more aggressive on the offensive rebounds as she does on the defensive end; She also needs to become more dominant on defensive, back to the basket moves around the rim, and turning the fouls into an ‘And1’ instead of shooting two free throws.”
The Queens, NY native helped carry her team to an 11-5 mark in a tough PSAL Brooklyn AA Division play this past season. She is now on the Radar from schools like St Johns, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State.
