Dolly Cairns 5 foot 5 point guard from Saratoga High School(NY) , didn’t have to travel far to pick up her first college offer. University at Albany ( American East Conference powerhouse) extended the offer via Cairns’s AAU Coach Keith Danzy. NYGHoops Report got a chance to catchup with Albany City Rocks Director / Coach Danzy to talk about his star guard.
“Dolly has tremendous upside and will be on par with many of the other great guards who have derived from our program; I’m excited to watch her game grow over the next few years”. Only freshman (2020) Cairns has 2 years of experience on varsity.. Some in the Capital region are comparing her to former capital region legend Julie McBride, who went on to have a good career at Syracuse, Dolly is a natural leader she is a pure pg with poise & IQ well beyond her years.”
Cairns enjoyed a solid freshman year putting up solid numbers (17 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds) and carried her team to New York State playoffs. She followed up with a solid Spring outcome at Boo Williams Nike Invitational; playing with the older group 16u in the Joe Smith division.
“In my opinion she is easily one of the best 2020’s in the state. I haven’t been wrong about a kid yet. Dolly is the real deal..!”.
