2020 I77 Evaluation Showcase (ROCK HILL, S.C.)

Carolina Girls Hoops Report & NYGHoops have come together to host the I77 Evaluation Showcase for the 3rd year, the location changed to the South Carolina side of the I77 Highway that the event is named for.  This year's event has 3 sessions to help provide an opportunity for exposure to these young girl’s throughout this Global pandemic and also comply with the Covid safety precautions, I will look at each session separately to identify the top players.

Session 1

• 2023 - Evangelia Paulk - 6’0” - Guard - Asheville HS (NC) - Team Carolina - Athletic, skilled player that was able to score on the interior & perimeter equally, strong shot form and range to beyond the 3-Pt line.  High iQ player that plays with a strong motor on the court, rebounds in traffic. Holds an offer from Wofford and I believe that more are coming soon...

• 2025 - Kate Sears - 5’7” - Guard - Watauga MS (NC) - Team Peak Basketball - Has continued to show an Elite level offensive game for her class Nationally, was able to score fluidly against High School Juniors & seniors throughout her session.  Has the ability to take over a game with passing & scoring ability.

• 2024 - Taylor Barner - 5’7” - Guard - Panthers Creek HS (NC) - FBC Carolina Elite - Showcased her ability to score at all 3 levels throughout the session, used a quick 1st step to get into the lane and finish at the rim but also knocked down the game winning 3-Ptr in 1st game of the day with the score tied & 7 seconds on the clock. Impact player at the High School level next year.

• 2021 - Jordan Durant - 5’6” - Guard - Butler HS (NC) - FBC Carolinas - Outstanding 2 way player that can operate as a lead guard or primary scorer, strong form and range on her jumpshot. Strong ball handler that can break down a defender to score at the rim, 1 of the Top available Guards in NC 2021 Class.

• 2024 - Reese Wilson  - 5’9” - Guard - Myers Park HS (NC) - FBC United - 1 of the Top players in the NC 2024 Class, has the ability to play Guard or Wing positions on the court, High IQ player that has advanced vision & passing ability. Strong frame allows her to attack the rim but also has a strong 3-Pt range. 

• 2022 - Ashley Farmer - 5’5” - Guard - Clover HS (SC) - CLT Dream Elite - Lead guard that can also add scoring when needed, was able to attack in transition & get 2 -3 And..1 Plays during the games. Strong ball handler that makes good decisions with the ball, High IQ player that loves to compete.

• 2023 - Marlee Beam - 6’0” - Forward - Apex Friendship HS (NC) - Player that showed a very Strong & consistent shooting form - range to beyond the 3-Pt line, used her frame to get her shots off over smaller players. Good ball handler that created opportunity for herself and others in game play, Strong Stretch-4 prospect that has a nice upside.

• 2021 - Dasia Lambert - 5’6” - Guard - East Surry HS (NC) - Surrey Storm - Skilled Combo Guard with great motor and High IQ, showed a nice handle and was able to distribute to her teammates for easy baskets. Got to every 50/50 ball during game play, and showed the ability to score in traffic.

• 2023 - Emma Larios - 5’6” - Guard - Asheville Christian (NC) - Team Carolina - Combo Guard that was able to distribute the ball in the 1st game, finished off by assisting on the game winning 3-Ptr. Showed off her shooting form and scoring ability in the 2nd game, strong Guard prospect in the 2023 Class.

• 2025 - Karlee Phelps - 6’2’ - Post - Carolina Springs MS (SC) - Palmetto 76ers - Strong framed interior scorer that has outstanding court vision & passing ability out of the post. High IQ player that played up against players in the 2022 & 2023 classes throughout the 1st session & fit right in. Huge upside and potential to be a Major D1 Prospect.
